World No Tobacco Day 2016

On World No Tobacco Day 2016, we took ownership of our community is key to promote healthy lifestyles. Our Pittman Park Tobacco Clean Up was a wonderful success!

Tobacco use in parks creates litter that negatively impacts the beautification of parks and stirs a safety concern for children and pets. This was our way to enforce and raise awareness on the Smoke-Free Ordinance for City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation.

Fulton County Board of Commissioners Meeting

The HEART Coalition asked the Fulton County Commissioners to adopt and support a tobacco free ordinance for Fulton County Parks and Recreation. A Tobacco Free Ordinance for parks and recreation centers will send a clear, distinct message that tobacco use is not the norm in our community and it will provide children with a healthy, tobacco-free environment in which to play.
